Equine chiropractic care is a holistic approach to many of the health and performance problems of the horse. Chiropractic does not replace traditional veterinary medicine and surgery, but provides an alternative method of care.
There are numerous common everyday events or occasional traumatic situations which can cause abnormal or restricted movement to occur in the spine. The change in proper spinal movement is what chiropractors call a “subluxation”. Subluxations can cause pain, tight muscles, reduced flexibility, weakness and other performance robbing symptoms. The horse will also show compensatory changes in posture and gait. These changes will stress other joints and muscles.
